Through the Annual Giving Campaign, the lodging industry provides much-needed support to students who have chosen hospitality as their career of choice, as well as funds important research to benefit our industry. Combining all of its educational, research, and outreach programs, the Foundation will disburse more than $1 million this year.

Education for Tomorrow's Leaders
Connecting today's talented youth with the people, programs, and resources they need to become tomorrow's leaders, AH&LEF has awarded almost $9 million in scholarships since its inception. This year, more than $550,000 will be awarded to promising students and lodging industry professionals to prepare them for a career in hospitality.
Cultivating Tomorrow's Workforce
Since 2003 more than $2.5 million has been expended through workforce development and school-to-career initiatives, which encourage career interest in the lodging field.
The new high school curriculum, Hospitality and Tourism Management Program (HTMP), developed with a myriad of industry experts, will take the place of the Lodging Management Program (LMP) as the official industry recognized curriculum to prepare junior and senior high school students for roles in the lodging industry. Additionally, 300 high schools and workforce training programs have implemented AHLEI’s Skills, Tasks, and Results Training (START), which is a one-year entry-level training program.
Industry Research
Addressing critical issues such as, room tax, ADA requirements, and technology advancement, the Foundation's research program provides information that's crucial to the industry. Since 1995, the Foundation has distributed $2.65 million in research grants to help hoteliers operate more efficiently – ultimately improving your bottom line.
