AH&LEF offers two types of scholarships:

Professional Development
Perfect for individuals currently working at a hotel property who want to advance their career by growing their industry knowledge or skill set, AH&LEF’s professional development scholarships provide assistance for distance learning courses and professional certification. If you are a hotel employee currently enrolled in either of these programs through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, then you eligible to apply for a scholarship.  Application deadlines are quarterly: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.  For more information on professional development scholarships, click here.

Academic Scholarships 
If you are enrolled in a U.S. undergrad or graduate hospitality degree program such as hotel/restaurant management, culinary arts, travel/tourism, or hotel administration, you're probably a candidate for an AH&LEF academic scholarship.

Last year, the Foundation distributed more than $568,000 in scholarship and outreach educational programs to more than 350 students and hospitality professionals.  At 105 schools across the country, the Foundation awarded academic scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000.  The deadline date for 2009 academic scholarships has passed. AH&LEF will begin to accept applications for the 2010 academic year starting January 1, 2010.  The deadline date for 2010 academic scholarships is May 1st.
