This scholarship honors Arthur J. Packard, who never waited for the lodging industry to ask him to volunteer his time and boundless energy. A third-generation hotelier, his work for AH&LA extended over 30 years -- one of the longest on record. The Packard Competition provides scholarships to the most outstanding student of lodging management and two runners-up through an annual competition among Foundation affiliated four-year programs.

Application Process
Packard Scholarships are School Nominated which means students are nominated by their respective schools. If you're attending a Foundation-affiliated four-year school, request nomination through your dean's office, or contact Crystal Hammond at 202-289-3188 or chammond@ahlef.org for more information. All student nominees must complete all sections of the AH&LEF Scholarship Application including Appendix A. Additionally, under separate cover, participating schools are required to send transmittal forms confirming their nominees. AH&LEF will not consider applicants for this competition without nomination verification from their respective schools.
