HOTEL INDUSTRY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 2020 BOARD OF TRUSTEES

G6 HOSPITALITY’S JUCEAM NAMED CHAIR

WASHINGTON (January 13, 2020) – The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AHLA Foundation), the charitable giving arm of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), today announced its 2020 Board of Trustees, which includes senior leaders from across the hotel industry who are committed to furthering the Foundation’s mission of helping people build careers, improve their lives, and strengthen the lodging industry.

Greg Juceam, President & Chief Operating Officer for G6 Hospitality, was named Chairman of the Board and Tom Bardenett, Executive VP of Asset Management for RLJ Lodging Trust, was named Vice-Chairman. Juceam succeeds Dave Johnson, President & Chief Executive Officer of Aimbridge Hospitality, who has served as chair for the past two years and guided the Foundation’s strategy to scale programs and help thousands of individuals strengthen their foothold in the hotel industry.

“I am honored to serve as chair of this dynamic Foundation at such a pivotal moment,” says Juceam. “Against the backdrop of a labor market that is the tightest it has been in 50 years, the Foundation can and should be a workforce solution for the entire industry. Whether it is expanding the Empowering Youth Program to new markets, adding new apprenticeship programs, or providing a million dollars in scholarships, the Foundation continues to innovate and provide resources to help attract and retain individuals into the industry for life-long careers. This will be even more important as our industry continues to evolve and grow. I look forward to working with our outstanding Trustees – and leaders at AHLA and within the industry – to meet this challenge.”

“We are thrilled to have a Board with such an incredible depth of experience in the industry,” says Rosanna Maietta, AHLA Foundation President. “With the hotel industry supporting 1 in 25 American jobs and over 800,000 open positions today, the need is stronger than ever to share the industry’s story of opportunity and advancement. We greatly appreciate our Trustees volunteering their time and energy to help us grow the Foundation’s brand and programs and to do even more to support this great industry.”
